Shortly after its release, they decided to change their name to Lamb Of God and the following year they released New American Gospel on Prosthetic Records. A video was made for the track "Black Label" which gained some airplay on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball program. They returned to the studio in 2003 with mastermind producer Devin Townsend (Also a member of Strapping Young Lad, The Devin Townsend Band, etc.) to release 2003's spectacular As the Palaces Burn. The album ended up selling over 100,000 copies and gained major label attention and finally, Sony's Epic Records signed the group. The band now had a 6 month dead line to complete a new album, and in August of 2004, the label issued Ashes of the Wake as well as the Terror and Hubris DVD the same year. Both enjoyed critical and commercial success. The band also received some controversy. While touring with Shadows Fall and Slipknot, the group was banned from playing at The Forum in Los Angeles because of the group's former name, Burn the Priest as The Forum is owned by the Church. Despite that event, the band is currently preparing to release its second DVD, Killadelphia. discography
