I like Van Morrison, Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom, Nick Drake, Richard Youngs, ect. and I want to explore the genre more. I look to the good people of RYM for help. Thanks

Huge fan of Sun Kil Moon and you should try the album Ghosts of the Great Highway. This should be enough to get you addicted: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKRA7weVyLs

Folk / Folk-Rock Recommendations
And recently i've been listening to this one lately: Tudor Lodge. It will probably end up very high on that list :)

If you enjoy Banhart and Newsom, you owe it to yourself to check out another great 'freak-folk' artist, Josephine Foster

i normally just recommend the string band in these sort of circumstances, but as they've been mentioned i'll recommend Thistletown - they're like a less po-faced, British Espers channeling prime time steeleye span or something. good stuff.

Josephine >>>>>>>> Joanna >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>x15 Devendra.
"Freak-folk" is prolly the stupidest phrase in the English language, btw.
