mellow and boring at times in fact most of the time. Take a Breath is more rocky than anything on the album and is definately a highlight. well produced and has a backing orchestra on several songs and Graham Nash and David Crosby provide backing vocals on the title yrack if anyone cares |

What can you really say about an album like "On An Island"? It's absolutely beautiful. Mind you, it's no "Wish You Were Here" not "Animals", but the record flows so smoothly and on such an even keel that it's hard not to admit this is one great piece of work.
Gilmour's guitar playing is perhaps at it's best. It's so passionate and accurate in the way his guitar solos are crafted that it's hard not get be mesmerized by such work. Lyric-wise, "On An Island" is introspective and personal, and perhaps goes for the same approach as Floyd's last album "The Division Bell".
You really can't miss this. One of the best records released in my era so far. |
