1 Narcosynthesis 4.30
2 We Disintegrate 3.25
3 Inside Four Walls 4.45
4 Evolution 169 2.80
5 The River Dragon Has Come 4.05 (and, the inspiration for Jack Black becomes even more evident)
6 The Heart Collector 2.50
7 Engines of Hate 3.35
8 The Sound of Silence 3.00
9 Insignificant (more solid riffage...more tedious vocals/lyrics and arrangements for that matter.)
10 Believe in Nothing 3.35 (beautiful guitar arpeggios to open, but it continues to down the power-ballad path...uggghh)
11 Dead Heart in a Dead World 3.90 (Riffs like this make me want to like this band...so agitating...e.g. "Emotions to turn to cold dead wood" Good grief!!!).
All in all, some of the best riffs I've heard within the thrash metal subgenre. Married to some rather laughable lyrics. All in all, I understand why the album is so popular, but there is something overly dramatic (see: Queensryche) about the vocalist, especially when considering the inferior lyrics. |

This combines the aggression, depth and musicianship from Nevermore of old and adds the hit-like approach. This is their hit factory album, their best one by far. The riffing is crazy, the soloing top-quality and Warrel Dane is one of the best singers of our times. In fact, one of my favourites ever. It's useless to pick songs, all are awesome, ballads (Heart Collector, Believe in Nothing), hits (Narcosynthesis, Inside Four Walls), covers (the amazing Sound of Silence is totally reworked from the genius original by Simon & Garfunkel). Slow (Evolution 169, Insignificant), fast (We Disintegrate, Engines of Hate), Nevermore are the masters of the song-writing craft.
The best album of the decade for me, a modern era power metal monolith. It's complex, it has hits, it is quite extreme for the harshness lovers, melodic for the melody lovers. This is METAL, all capitals |

An awesome album of Nevermore. Such vocals combined with such heavy guitarworks makes an really interesting release. We Disintegrate and The River Dragon Has Come are truly awesome songs. We Disintegrate is a bit weird but that's just how I like it. |

I used to like this a lot in high school, but now I know what good music is so this is just pretty average. |

What can I say about this album that has not already been said. This is some seriously stunning metal. |

Wow. I can find influences from Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Power Metal, Metallica, and Anthrax all wrapped up in this album. Sometimes it almost flirts too much with these giant names, but, for the most part, Nevermore takes its influences farther and heavier than they could have ever hoped to have done themselves. |

This album somewhat fails at inspiring thoroughly. It always seems that there is something wrong with Nevermore. I know that Dead Heart in a Dead World is their greatest album, but it certainly doesn't show. The vocals are quite boring and depressing. The riffs can become sweet, but they are constantly thrown away in search of new, more atmospheric riffs that promote sad and evil ambiances. The drums are quite excellent: that is a truthful fact.
Nevermore has never been my thing, and I'm not about to change my opinion on that issue. |

Another great album by a unique band in the metal community. Recommended for those who seek fat and juicy progressive/trash metal songs. It has some really good lyricism as well. |
