    Some song ended up getting a beat with a very similar construction as this but with a different vocal sample. Reminds me of Devin the Dude's "Cooter Brown" too.

Overall: 71 - 71.5 3.10/5 62%: Good; serious flaws; BE WARNED

Carter Files is one of the most unique tapes in Wayne's prime run because he went back to the C1 vaults for it. But what makes it so interesting is the way "RawToon" is totally looking ahead twenty years let alone two or three, and a lot of the stuff here is just stuff you wouldn't have been expecting him to be doing back in the C1 days when Mannie Fresh was still around. For me, Carter Files did a lot to prove how easily Wayne can expand his schtick into pretty much whatever arena he wants to throw it in. Sure these are throwaway songs and it shows, but this isn't too bad of a mixtape despite all the interludes and there are some real dope cuts here. And even if you don't like the music, again it's definitely interesting to see what Wayne was up to behind the scenes at Cash Money - apparently much of the same thing as he is these days. Recording, recording, recording. The tape's kind of misleading because a lot of the second half is from either Tha Carter itself or other mixtapes, so like a lot of other Wayne tapes this is only recommended for collectors.
