That exciting moment in music when three genres combined. Electro was music for B-Boys, a merging of electronic boogie, European synth pop, and block party hip hop to create futuristic space age funk driven by 808 drum licks and vocoder vocals. Most people in the UK first became familiar with Electro through the seminal Streetsounds compilations that appeared from 1983 onwards.
