An interesting extension of Synth Pop was the desire to minimise the aural aesthetic. This created a sound that was very influential on the future of electronic dance music. It came from a range of sources from all over Europe, Japan and North America: from high brow serious electronic composers, to basement experiments by geeky teenagers with kit.
