A compilation of the albums from the Western section of the Saharan belt. This includes Mande Music, Moorish Music, Afro-Jazz, Wassoulou, some folk music, as well as Tishoumaren.
The Mande Music/Afro-Jazz scene was prominent in Mali and Guinea, as western influences through Psych-Rock blended with Jazz and some folk to create a sound that's difficult to compare against; the melting pot of genres created a powerful, full-sounded experience that enveloped from innovative structuring of the Arts in society (The Biennales system, refer to Mali Kunkan list).
Moorish Music comes from the Islamic Modal system, the farthest west the system extends, as per the Moorish people's ethnic predication in Mauritania.
Tishoumaren/Tuareg Music is a much rustier, desert-influenced sound that took warped electric guitars and the folkier side of Mande Music to create a vibrant, yet nomadic sound.
Wassoulou is a call-and-response type music, usually sung by females, about childbearing, fertility, amongst other topics.
