I'm getting into ambient, vaporwave, post-rock, noise, dark jazz, drone, and experimental rock. If I rated something from over two - two and a half years ago, my opinion on it has probably changed, so please don't bug me about "my shit music taste" (it's shit now already).
If it's a lolicore or brony release, then yes, my opinion on it has a 90% chance of having changed. Message me about the release if you're so anal about it and I'll relisten. And if it's a list that could have had information changed over the course of time (opinions etc.), message me if you care about it or ignore it.
Please call me Decibelle, Deci, or Trixie. I'm a transwoman.
I also love anime and animation in general, but she_esh and auntler are better-versed in the world of anime than I am.
I'm Decibelle.

Explaining my ratings!
Songs on track ratings that are 3* or lower I don't keep on iTunes unless taking it out would disrupt the flow of the album.
3.5 - 5.0 = I'd listen to it regularly.
3.0 = I'd listen to it at least one more time.
0.5 - 2.5 = I would not listen to it again unless my tastes have changed or I think it would warrant a relisten (in the case that I maybe missed something or I wasn't in the right mood for the music).
5.0: Fantastic. These may be albums that have changed my life or not. Either way, I enjoy the vast amount of majority of songs, even if I dislike 1 or 2 or 3, or all the good songs outweigh the few bad songs that would bump the album up to a 5*.
4.5: Excellent: Very great for the most part, but a few songs or a couple parts just don't make the gold happen. Could be a few minor annoyances or one bad part.
4.0: Great: It's really good, or great, sure, but that doesn't mean it has some flaws. It often does, which will lead to this rating; This should be about the majority of music I listen to.
3.5: Very Good: It has a lot of flaws, but there's something about it that makes me like it a lot to keep it this rating.
3.0: Good: A step above average. Almost as many flaws as good stuff, but it's good enough that I'd listen to it again. This is where I may or may not keep the album if I download it.
2.5: Average: Most people call a 2.5* rating the "bad" rating, although when I use it, it indicates that I find the album very down the middle, not so good, not so bad. The bad stuff balances out the good stuff, etc. I probably wouldn't listen to it again, or if I did, I'd listen to it maybe one more time.
2.0: Below Average: This is where it starts to get bad. It's almost average, but something annoys me about it enough that I would put it here.
1.5: Bad: Music that's just flat-out bad.
1.0: Crap: The only thing saving it from me giving it a .5* is that it's usually funny enough, or has a couple tiny parts, or 1 song that puts it here.
0.5: Shit: Music that isn't good at all. Not even for comedic factor (or maybe there is comedic factor, but not enough). Would highly recommend it to my worst enemy. Music that offends me on a personal level, regardless of how good the actual music is, will go here too.
My filming criteria is mostly the same, except that 2.5s for films will also go to films that are technically impressive or well-executed but lacking in every other department, including enjoyability and comprehension. If music is technically impressive (this differs from "drum/guitar/bass/keys/vocal wanking"), it'll hold my attention for at least a 3*. As movies are longer and I need to devote more of my attention to it (hence me rating them harsher), just technical impressiveness won't do much more than a 2.5* unless it's good in other areas. Prime examples of this for me are Funny Games and Inland Empire.
I'm not going to listen to stuff outside of my wishlist until I hit below 1.5k items on it. I need to purge that thing (this is a blatant lie but I'm trying my best!)
Also, if I don't reply to you when you leave a comment; I apologize! I don't mean to ignore people, and I do want to reply to every comment/message I get, but I just tend to forget.

Decibelle @May 26, 2015 Nozinja Nozinja Lodge | Rated:
I'm not familiar with this kind of music at all, but it's really appealing. The way the vocals line up with the fast electronic instrumentation (especially all the weird high-pitched noises that I don't typically hear in dance music) is really lovely. At times, it sounds like a video game soundtrack, and at others, like a mix of old-school Kanye West mixed in with Graduation. Though by and large, Nozinja has his own unique sound. Even at its most bizarre and unconventional, it ... more... |

Spoilers will follow, and though I try to be as vague as possible, something is that is obviously spoilers are put in the spoiler tags. This review is less for the Twin Peaks diehards and fans and more for the people who haven't watched the series yet, and are considering maybe watching this before the series, as I once was.
The basic plot is that a high school girl, Laura Palmer, is found dead and washed up on the shore of a beach. This rocks the small town community of Twin Peaks and becom... more... |

 | Julia's Canon (My Top Albums of All Time because youre clearly interested in me)
This is always gonna be a WIP.
Also, album positions are not that concrete (with the exception of the top 10, maybe 20). It's mostly a general idea of what I prefer more. I've always thought this to be the problem with Top [anything more than 25] lists, but I tried.

Dangan Ronpa is a game released in Japan. Think of a cross between Phoenix Wright and Battle Royale (even though that's not the best comparison). It reached cult status in America with a Let's Play done on the SomethingAwful forums. Since then, the second game is being undertaken through Let's Plays, an English translation was undertaken and released of the first game (to mixed reception), and a whole fan community spawned from it. There's even an anime of the first game, and two manga adaptions of the first game, and three of the second.

What started out as a silly, lighthearted joke soon turned into a (very) niche subgenre that tried to be more shocking and abrasive than the last. With a genre like Lolicore though, there's only so little you can do. Of course, the genre has fizzled out, and even with relatively few new releases happening. But from 2009 - 2011, it seemed like this was a genre you could find even accidentally, be it on last.fm, 4chan, 7chan, blogspot, archive.org, and even our very own RYM.
But such dead genres must have a eulogy, no? And that's why I'm putting together a short list of all you need to know about the genre. With relatively few albums to cover, it's still worth checking out if you're into silly abrasive shit. So what's worth the time, and what isn't? Well, here you go.
(Also, if you know of any albums/EPs/singles/whatever that have Lolicore as a secondary genre, please tell me. I'd be interested in checking them out.) Created: 05/16/2013 | Last updated: 05/16/2013 | 10 items | | The Vent Diary

What is pisscore?
Pisscore is a style of Mashup music that is purposely made to be as noisy, unprofessional, and chaotic as possible. To produce the chaos needed, styles of music such as Breakcore and Speedcore are used to up the ante and energy the music gives out, as well as using Brostep in a mocking manner. Even Noise can be liberally applied to the music, and there's a touch of Vaporwave too. It heavily samples pop culture, Vocaloid, even Death Grips. Most of the music is rapid-fire, often lasting under two to three minutes.
Pisscore was essentially created by PISS SPEARS (aka Paige Stanley) who has had experience working with Plunderphonics and Experimental music before as part of the duo known as Stab Something. Despite her PISS SPEARS project being active on Soundcloud in the form of various songs, it wasn't until 2013 when she decided to release the landmark (for the genre) album, I CREATED PISSCORE.
Despite the genre being small, it has a following, with very important albums released during the short time it's been alive. Those albums are listed here. Created: 12/15/2013 | Last updated: 01/27/2014 | 6 items | | Entire Discographies I've Listened to, and Honestly, Why?
For an artist to have a whole discography count, they must have at least 3 releases of (mostly) differently-compiled releases (so an artist with one album and two EPs of the same songs from the album doesn't count, or an artist with an album, an EP, and a compilation of songs from those; however, an artist with an album, an EP, and a demo or compilation of demos not released before counts). Live bootlegs don't need to be listened to to count, and I wouldn't factor that in. Demos also don't count, unless it's made up of different material from the rest of the discography or if the demo would make a discography count towards the 3-release limit. However, if I listened to them, I will include them in the entire discography rating. Live albums certainly count.
Singles don't count unless a discography is made up exclusively or almost-exclusively of singles, or there are enough single with unique songs to qualify (which is four at this moment). Only those singles will count. Created: 12/02/2014 | Last updated: 04/02/2015 | 10 items | | Movies That I Just Can't Finish

this is fucking insane I know, and they are infamous for being, according to people, "pretentious", "stupid", "shit", or "too weird". But you know what? Why not? I can separate the gems from the losers, and even if you're Areskelian (<3), there's still some bad/average stuff. I'm obviously not going to listen to everything that takes over 96 hours (or a week, if someone can show me an exceptional piece by them that's up to a week), and it'll be taxing, but I'll devote myself to this. 2 - 5 pieces from them a day. Will update by adding the ones I've heard. Each album is ranked in order of best to worst. This is all subjective, and feel free to argue and whatnot in here, as long as you back up your arguments and be civil. Have fun folks! And pray I don't go insane!
